I have always been interested in creating sculptures and produced them every so often but I have now decided to make them part of my regular arts practise. I love and find challenging the three dimensional nature of sculptures, you can get your whole body involved in the process, however you need to be mindful of what you are doing at every stage. This has given me the opportunity to involve a more meditative practice to my art.
I am very keen on reducing my environmental impact so I am focusing on sculptures with recycled elements using items such as plastic, paper, string, wire and tape. All of these things I am collecting and cleaning from my own consumption and rubbish found on my regular walks. The next stage is work with local companies and use some of their waste in my art.
